Refurbishment & Extension
Keepers Cottage has stood on the north bank of the Aros River for the best part of 200 years and was formerly used by the local Laird as a place to collect taxes. The building had been extended poorly in its more recent history and was in an almost dilapidated state when purchased by our Client in 2013.
Front and rear extensions have been demolished and the old core of the house has now been substantially rebuilt and extended to the front, side and rear to provide a modern, open and energy efficient home, which respects the history and location of the cottage whilst safeguarding its future. Red corrugated roofing and timber cladding have been used to signify the new additions and add a distinctiveness and flair to the old house.
