Garden Room Extension
The small garden room is inverted in the narrow space between the north elevation of the large subdivided Victorian house and the boundary wall. The new room forms a link between the existing kitchen and enclosed walled garden and is angled in section to maximise the volume and the provision of daylight from the three large roof windows.
The almost fully glazed east end incorporates features used on larger new build projects by the Architect, such as board on board larch cladding and a projecting zinc clad verge. The net effect is to provide a small addition with a large scale which sits confidently within the context.
